For those curious the 300/333Mhz celerons or celery(crunchy and burned fast if insufficiently cooled) as we called them, could reach 665Mhz by using the BX mobo's 133FSB option, then by using the multiplier divider you could drop the PCI bus speed back down. This stopped your video/audio cards from having issues due to a too high of speed. With a bit of voltage tweaking usually 0.3v or 0.5v you had a dirt cheap, super fast CPU. In most cases disabling the caching wasn't required, it was rock solid.

A little bit later, some ingenious people found out that the "hardware multiplier" lock on the Slot 1 CPU's could be unlocked with a graphite pencil, meaning you could OC without using the FSB trick. There was a boom in various things like "silver-ceramic" epoxy, since the graphite would "electron migrate" over the span of a few months. This lead Intel to sever the ability to unlock the CPU by doing so directly on the CPU die itself.
