It can be clocked to 1600 MHz without cooling working at around 45 degrees C without problems :) =). 133 FSB and 12.0 multiplicator!

This CPU was the best for overclocking...
Some people did run over 2GHz

Palomino's were really bad when it comes to overclocking; the manufacturing process made it very hot and thus unstable when OC'ed so I guess it was ok when reached ~1700MHzon

I've had this in an MSI KT3Ultra since 2002. Its been overclocked to the xp 1800+ specs for seven years with the stock cooler and its still running fine. Too bad the 2600+ is so cheap on ebay, its like the end of an era for me...

Had this chip since 2003

I have had it OCed to the 3200 specs since I bought it, the first round of 1700s where unlocked and you could run them at 2.2Ghz with no problems with a good heatsink and fan. Mine is still running today at the same speed, its now my daughters PC and it plays most of her games great. She is into WOW, not much of a drain on that machine, but some newer games do drop a bit now.

Like one poster said, an end of and era for sure.
