Abit KG7- RAID compatibility

2006-12-20 17:56:37
Posted by: A. Murray

Does anyone know if this uP will run on an Abit KG7-RAID motherboard? In two places on Abit's website it states that KG7-RAID will accept AthlonXP - Palomino 2100+ and Thoroughbred 2000+, but this sounds backwards to me. If this is actually the case, which would be the better choice?

Thanks.

Yes this chip will, I'm running it on this exact board.
very good, have been running it when processor first came out. My dad bought the same one. both still have em, they work really well.

Matt- Do you have an extra AMD Athlon XP 2100?

Overclocking

I got bored and started playing with my bios settings, I have got this chip running on 170Mhz FSB @ X14 multiplier, although on raw multiplying I have had it up to X17 on a 138Mhz FSB, the temperature went up to 48 C

Sisoft Sandra now rates it XP3455 !!!

CPU temperature is a measly 33 C as well.

If your mobo offers you the chance, and your RAM is DDR 333 capable it is well worth the overclock, it now rates higher than the fastest available CPU for my Asus A7V8X (XP3000)

I am running mine on 1.9 volts with copper heat sink and TT variable speed fan.

12 X at 200MHZ FSB. thats a massive 2.4 GIG speed. Faster than a 3.2 XP processor.

Temps runs at 51 C

Paul Busby... lower your voltage to 1.75 and lower your FSB- then raise your multiplier by 1 number at a time, restarting the PC after each setting, and you should get to at least 16-17 and a much more stable and cool running PC.
